These terms explain the conditions that apply when using afausa.org, contacting Autism Foundation of America, making a donation, or managing a recurring contribution.
Effective date: August 2, 2026
By accessing or using afausa.org, submitting a form, making a donation, or using a service linked from this website, you agree to these Terms of Use and our Privacy Policy.
Please do not use the website or submit a transaction if you do not agree to these terms.
Information provided through the website is intended for general educational, informational, resource-navigation, charitable, and community-support purposes.
Website content is not medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, legal advice, financial advice, or a substitute for services provided by a qualified professional.
Autism Foundation of America does not guarantee that a listed resource, provider, program, benefit, treatment, or service will be available, appropriate, effective, affordable, or suitable for every person or family.
The website, contact form, email addresses, resource navigator, and other AFA communication channels are not emergency or crisis services and are not monitored continuously.
Do not use this website to request immediate medical, mental health, law-enforcement, or emergency assistance. In the United States, call 911 for an immediate emergency.
Online donations are processed through Stripe. Payment information is entered on Stripe-hosted pages and processed according to Stripe's terms, privacy practices, and security procedures.
By submitting a donation, you represent that you are authorized to use the selected payment method and authorize the stated donation amount to be charged.
AFA may use unrestricted donations to support its mission, organizational development, program planning, operating needs, technology, outreach, education, family support, administration, and other charitable priorities unless a written restriction has been expressly accepted by AFA.
Selecting an impact level or reading an example of how funds may help does not create a legally restricted gift or guarantee that a particular donation will be used for one specific person, service, purchase, or program.
When you select monthly giving, you authorize Stripe to charge the chosen payment method on a recurring monthly basis until the recurring donation is canceled.
The amount and billing frequency are displayed during checkout. You are responsible for maintaining accurate billing information and an active payment method.
Monthly donors may use Stripe's secure customer portal to review billing information, view available invoices or receipts, update eligible payment details, and cancel a recurring donation.
Manage My Monthly DonationStripe may require verification through the email address associated with the donation before granting portal access.
A recurring donation may be canceled through the Stripe customer portal or by contacting AFA.
The portal will display when a cancellation takes effect. Cancellation prevents charges scheduled after the effective cancellation date but does not automatically reverse or refund donations that were already completed.
Donors should submit cancellation requests before the next scheduled billing date. Processing delays, verification needs, weekends, holidays, or incomplete information may affect how quickly a manually submitted request can be completed.
Donations are generally treated as final once processed. However, a donor may contact AFA regarding a suspected duplicate charge, incorrect amount, unauthorized transaction, technical error, or other exceptional circumstance.
Requests are reviewed individually. AFA may request information reasonably necessary to verify the donor, payment, transaction, and circumstances. Approval of a correction or refund is not guaranteed and may depend on applicable law, available funds, processing limitations, and the status of the transaction.
Contact AFA as soon as possible after discovering a potential payment error.
Autism Foundation of America does not provide tax advice. Whether a contribution is deductible depends on the organization's applicable tax status, the nature and timing of the contribution, and the donor's individual circumstances.
Donors should rely on official AFA disclosures and receipts and consult a qualified tax professional regarding deductibility, recordkeeping, and reporting.
A payment confirmation or Stripe receipt confirms that a transaction occurred but does not by itself guarantee that the contribution qualifies for a tax deduction.
You agree to provide accurate contact information and not submit unlawful, abusive, threatening, deceptive, fraudulent, defamatory, infringing, malicious, or intentionally disruptive content.
Submitting a contact form does not guarantee eligibility, financial assistance, placement in a program, professional services, a particular response time, or a specific outcome.
Please do not submit Social Security numbers, passwords, complete medical records, full payment-card numbers, or other highly sensitive information through general website forms.
AFA may link to government agencies, service providers, nonprofit organizations, payment processors, educational resources, and other third parties.
A link does not necessarily constitute endorsement, certification, sponsorship, or a guarantee. Third-party websites and services are controlled by their respective operators and are subject to their own terms, privacy practices, eligibility requirements, and availability.
Unless otherwise stated, the AFA name, branding, website design, original text, graphics, and other original website materials are owned by or used with permission by Autism Foundation of America.
You may view, print, or share publicly available website materials for personal, educational, and noncommercial purposes when attribution is preserved. You may not falsely represent AFA, impersonate the organization, remove ownership notices, or use AFA materials in a misleading or unlawful manner.
AFA may update, correct, suspend, remove, or discontinue website content, features, forms, resources, programs, or services at any time.
We work to provide accurate and useful information but do not guarantee that every page, link, resource, feature, or service will always be available, current, complete, or free from error.
The website and its content are provided on an "as available" basis to the extent permitted by law. AFA does not guarantee specific results from using the website, contacting the organization, following a resource, or making a donation.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, AFA is not responsible for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or similar losses arising from reliance on website content, third-party services, unavailable resources, interrupted access, or unauthorized misuse of the website.
AFA may revise these Terms of Use as the organization, website, programs, payment practices, or legal requirements change. The current version will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
Continued use of the website after revised terms are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
