Augmentative and Alternative Communication, or AAC, includes ways of communicating that supplement or replace spoken language. AAC can include gestures, signs, pictures, communication boards, symbol systems, typing, and electronic speech generating devices. Some people use AAC all the time, while others use it only in certain situations.
